Every contribution to Dismas Home’s Annual Fund stays in our community and provides critical support for our operational annual budget. Your donation will support the delivery of clinical care, the expansion of needed services, the maintenance of facilities, and investments in supplies needed throughout the year.
Dismas Home is the only entity in New Hampshire with the courage to address the therapeutic, social, emotional and educational needs for justice-involved women. With your generous support, you can join our mission to expand our services with a second home, which will give our residents enough time to build a strong foundation for a long-term recovery.
Dismas Home is proud to participate in the Community Development Finance Authority (CDFA) Tax Credit Program. Businesses with a tax burden in New Hampshire can donate directly online to Dismas Home and receive considerable tax relief. The process is both easy to use and impactful to the future of Dismas Home.
Most retirement plan assets, such as IRAs and 401(k)s, are subject to taxation when passed to heirs — but up to 100% of your retirement plan assets can be transferred to Dismas Home free of all taxes. To name us as the beneficiary, consult with your adviser, then instruct the plan administrator of your decision and complete a change of beneficiary form.
A charitable gift annuity is a contract between you and Dismas Home where you make an initial donation and then receive a lifetime of payments in return. Upon making your donation, you can also take advantage of a charitable tax deduction.
Making an outright or partial gift of real estate is a great way to support Dismas Home. You’ll incur no tax liability on the transfer and get a tax deduction based on the property’s fair market value.
If you’re over 70 and a half and are taking a required minimum distribution from your IRA, you can direct all or part of that distribution to Dismas Home (up to $100,000).
Do you have investments that have been appreciated? Consider gifting them to Dismas Home to maximize your impact and tax benefit.
When you give an investment that’s appreciated, you get to deduct the fair market value of that security as a charitable gift — avoiding the capital gains tax of a sale. In other words, you’ll make a more significant impact by donating the investment directly (instead of donating the cash earnings of a sale).
